We sent in our application and fee for Shepherds Care to Kelowna a few weeks ago, and they've forwarded it on to Shepherds Care for us. Now we're just waiting to hear back from them in order to move forward.
Meanwhile, I'm working on gathering info for our birthmother letters. The format for these letters has drastically changed, and instead of being printed on regular paper in a letter format, they (both Kelowna for domestic adoption, and Shepherds Care for international adoption) now require a bound book, such as a blurb book. This of course, makes this part of the process more time consuming and costly since I can't just revamp our 'old' letters and pictures, but have to actually start completely over and get them professionally printed.
And of course, the stress of what exactly to include in these letters, which pictures to use, and how to present ourselves - because we want to come across as great parents and a great family, but also truly share who we really are - is difficult. What exactly do you say to a potential birthmother who is thinking of asking you to parent her child? Not exactly a conversation that we have every day, that's for sure.

You are great parents and a great family! Maybe I should write this for you...
