We thought we were done... but no. Is the paperwork ever done?
A social worker called last week and said the rules changed. In order for the Ministry of Children and Family Development to send away our background paperwork to Kelowna for our Florida adoption, they needed our signatures. The paper that we had previously signed for them to release our information wasn't good enough any more? Nope, since about a month ago, they changed the rules. They couldn't however tell me this when I was in their office three weeks ago, or even last week when I had to go back since they don't seem to know how to do their jobs properly. Another story there.
I hate it when that happens. And I hate it when they don't let you know that the rules change. So, today we drove into Surrey. Yup, had to wait a week since we had to make an appointment. Yup, had to sign it in person, couldn't be faxed over, since that would just be much too simple and easy. And yup, the appointment took literally 30 seconds.
Positive - The sun was shining and the mountains looked beautiful!
Are we done with this paperwork mountain yet? Hopefully this is the end...

So frustrating! The world of international adoption is constantly changing. I hope its smooth sailing from here.
